SimPort leading to nowhere.

For the last days (almost a week now) i have been trying to get further with the SimPort stuff.

So far i had one (!) succesfull host, where a friend showed up in my town to do a show, but for days now, not a single show works. I can't accept a friends request, nothing happens or the sim just doesn't show up.

As far as my own sims on tour, my singer has had 3 succesfull shows, my acrobat 0.
I keep sending them off to do tours but it always ends up with a message like, your friend missed the show or your sim took a wrong turn or some other bullshit, resulting in no rewards/stamps.

In short SimPort seems bugged like hell.

I have been going through the forums to find some solution or just find something that might be causing this, but other than finding more and more posts with the same kind of problems i am having there is nothing to find.
I find it disturbing that it looks like the devs (or Gurus) just don't seem to care, there is hardly any post to be found by a guru, let alone a helpfull one.
Trying to find out if there are any known issues with SimPort is just as hard and comes up with very little helpfull info.

I also find it very funny that in a bug thread a guru is actually recommending to use a THIRD party mod to help with some of the bugs, i mean it is awesome that there are actually mods out there that fix stuff, but come on, they should be fixing this not telling you to just use some third party mods...

Maybe i should not be so surprised, afterall this is EA, everything they touch goes bad.
For once i would like to see some new sims expansion without any problems, i was hoping that showtime would be that one, but i once again got burned..

I am still playing the Sims, but i am awefully close to just quit and never touch the Sims again.

SimPort me!

The latest expansion for The Sims 3 is Showtime.
It adds 3 new professions to the game, Singer, Magician and Acrobat.
It also adds a nice new feature to the game called SimPort, this is where you sent your sim off to do a tour, your sim dissapears from your city for 24 ingame hours to simulate the tour, any of your friends can accept the tour/performance and have your sim perform in their city/game, after the show the sim leaves again, so they're not staying in your city.

You can also host a friends sim to perform in a venue in your city, after a friend sends his/her sim off to do a tour and you accept it or you can ask for a specific performance by posting a "help wanted ad" and any of your friends can accept that and do the show for you, by doing this you can unlock "stamps", achievements and unlock stage props and some new costumes.

There are also a lot of new features added to your personal sims profile page, it almost looks like a facebook now and the best part is you van access a lot of this stuff from ingame now :)

Initially i though that all this might be quite invasive, but it is not at all.
You or your friends will only recieve an ingame message/notification once when a request is made available and when you log into the game after that the requests will only show up in your SimPort window.

At this time i have both a singer and an acrobat and i am definitely having a lot of fun playing them, of course i am also looking for gigs to perform and am always looking to have other sims perform in my city :)
So if you have showtime please add me to your friends, you can find me as Hauntshade or go to my profile here.

Have fun simming.

More Origin/EA account problems.

In a post (Thanks EA, for not making it complicated...) not that long ago I wrote about the problems I was having trying to get my 3 EA/Origin accounts merged into one account.
According to EA CS this was not possible (personally think that's a lot of BS).

So on to my new problem.
I recently bought some simpoints through Origin and only after the purchase noticed I was logged into my main Origin/EA account (which logs in automatically) and not on my "sims account".

The simpoints were automatically credited to the main EA/Origin account, without a serial key or anything else given that would allow me to transfer/give it to my sims account.
So now I am stuck with simpoints on my main account and since that is not a sims account i can't use them.

I have contacted EA CS about this issue and they would contact me back (apperantly they abandoned the ticket system, hmm wonder why.. :) ).

Anyways it has been 2 days and they still have to contact me, so yet another bad EA/Origin Customer "Service" experience for me.
And it also leaves me to wonder how long it's gonna take to get this "fixed".

If they would just give us the option to merge accounts this would not be a problem at all, afterall i allready contacted them about this and allready told them i was afraid something like this might happen, if you have 3 accounts and forget you are not logged into the right account it's an easy mistake to make.

I never asked for 3 accounts, so give me an option to merge them, or let me transfer all of my stuff into 1 account.

Oh man how much i love Steam!!

Going back in time with the Sims.

I have been playing a lot of The Sims 3 lately, really enjoying it.
I also (finally) started playing The Sims Medieval again, i only briefly played it when it came out.

Initianally i never got into it because it is quite different than playing The Sims 3, where The Sims 3 is quite the "open world", The Sims Medieval is not.
It is heavily quest based and very little open world, i don't know if later on the world will "unlock" for me to freeplay, but right now i basicly look at the questlist for available quests and choose one, when i finish a quest, i get the rewards for it and get to pick another quest.

Most of the time you have to pick a main character, that can be your king/queen or if another character is needed you will have to pick them (like a doctor or spy) and often you also get to choose a secondary character that will play as a support role.

Often two characters will work together in solving/finishing the goals in a quest.
This is quite different from The Sims 3, as usually you play with just one character (or a family), in The Sims Medieval you get to play all sorts of characters like the king/queen, a doctor, a spy, a wizzard etc.
Although you have to unlock these so called hero characters by doing quests and earn points to buy/unlock facilities for them.

So far i have been having a lot of fun playing through the quests as they have many, sometimes surprising, twists and turns depending on the characters and their traits.

And the expansion The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles ads a lot of more options/fun to the game.

So, yeah if you like the sims and some questbased gaming you might like The Sims Medieval just as much as i do :)

Yes, i play that too!

It's one of those games that you are not likely to admit playing when talking to friends about what you play, i mean telling them you played Battlefield 3 is ok (they play it too) and nowadays saying you play World of Warcraft is not recieved that badly, at least not as bad as a few years ago.
One of those i do no talk about (much) is the one i have been playing for the last couple of days, The Sims 3..
It's one of those "guilty pleasure" games that i enjoy playing for a while and than forget about for some time.
Just a few days ago i bought the pets expansion and have been having fun with that, so far i have only had a few pets that i picked up out and about (like a rat and a bird) and one cat.
Have to say i really like how they have done the cat, a lot of fun to watch.

However yesterday i felt a little bad, my character is a vampire so she does not age, the cat however did and so the result was that Death visited my house to pick up the cat and shortly after that both the rat and the bird died too.

I have also been trying to advance with the band i formed but for some reason everytime i go to perform a show, one of my band members quits playing and has to leave for whatever reason, before the show is suppose to be over resulting in a failure, so very annoying.

The Sims has been one of those games, that over the years i have always had on my PC to waste those hours away, to me it has always been a very addictive game.
