Borderlands is a gem

For the last few days i have been playing nothing else but Borderlands, i have been looking forward to this game ever since i saw the first trailers for it a long time ago.
And i have to say so far i am not dissapointed in this game, it's definatly a lot of fun.

The game really looks great, have to admit i was a bit sceptic after they changed/overhauled the look of the game, but this new look really sets this game apart and fits the atmosphere, i really think this game is a gem.
So i recommend checking it out!

Console Fun

The console has really gotten to me lately, i haven't touched my gaming PC in weeks now. I guess one of the reasons is the easy use of consoles, just put a game in and play and although i am really a pc gamer, i just am so used to using a keyboard and a mouse and have a hard time using a controller, i am still having a lot of fun.

So what have i been playing lately?
Brutal Legend (X360), Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS3), Onechanbara Bikini Zombie Slayers (Wii), The House of the Dead Overkill (Wii), The House of the Dead 2&3 Return (Wii), Halo 3 ODST (X360), Rockband (X360), Guitar Hero 5 (X360), Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3), Wii Sports (Wii).

Some games i have coming in: Borderlands (X360), Ghost Squad (Wii), Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (Wii).

Mosh it up!!

Played the demo for Brütal Legend on the xbox360 yesterday and i have to say this game looks like a lot of fun, i have been following this game for some time now and after playing the demo i just had to pre-order this game.
Can't wait to play the full version, great soundtrack, fun gameplay... Mosh it up!!

Console time

Lately i have been playing quite a bit on my consoles and kind of ignored my PC.

Shadow Complex on the Xbox360, actually a lot of fun, as far as i know it's only available on the Xbox marketplace, but it's definatly worth it. It reminds me a lot of the old sidescrolling games and it really surprised me. I really recommend this game.

inFamous on the PS3, finally got around to playing it, had it laying around since it came out, but never got to it. Definatly my favorite type of game (open world/sandbox like game) and sure is a lot of fun, goes right in with some of my other favorites like Saints Row (1&2), Crackdown. So if you like these type of games, go for it.

I also got the urge to play Crackdown again, after reading about Crackdown 2. Still haven't finished it, but after all this time it is still fun.

Zombie Apocalypse for Xbox360, I only tried the demo, was kind of fun, only a bit annoyed by the fact that once a zombie manages to grab you, there's nothing you can do to (try) break free (as far as i know from playing the demo, unless i missed something). Other than that it does what it says shoot as many zombies as you can, so a fun little time waster :)

I did manage to get a little PC time with Prototype, it came out around the same time as inFamous, but my preference went to inFamous, so until now i never got around to try it, i got it on D2D. Somehow i think Prototype doesn't like my PC very much as it doesn't run very well, eventhough i have a pretty high end rig... It definatly doesn't run under my 3840x1024 screen resolution and can't be changed in any way, normally you can mess around a bit with the settings in some files but this game has those files coded...
Kind of dissapointing but it doesn't look like a bad game, maybe it will run better on a console, but on PC.....

So on to my major dissapointment... WET (on PS3), when i saw Bethesda was publishing this game i figured it had to be a good game, or atleast fun, but i really can't understand Bethesda for actually endorsing this game and publishing it, for me this game put a dent in Bethesda's reputation, so far i could pick up a Bethesda game and be pretty sure i would enjoy it (for me Bethesda was like Bioware), but this "game" definatly changed that..
From now on i will definatly wait for reviews to see what the game is like and/or try the demo before buying a Bethesda game. Right now i am "done" with this game and don't know if i'll ever pick it up again, i can't really recommend this game, really a waste of money, maybe if you find it for a few bucks/euros, but definatly not for full price.
I have to give it to them though, they managed to be the first game to have me through my controller across the room, no game has managed that so far (achievement earned).

MMO burnout ?

Just realised i haven't been posting much on my blog lately.
Not that i've not been playing, those who follow me on Twitter/GamerDNA/Raptr probably saw me game quite a lot.

But when it comes to MMO's, well since Tabula Rasa went down i haven't played them much.
I adventured around a little bit in some of the MMO's i still have a sub for, like my (SOE) Station Access and lifetime sub for LOTRO, also been doing a bit of Beta (like Free Realms and...).

But most of my gaming was done on the PS2, PS3 and Xbox360.
I did finally give in and got a PS3, although i am still dissapointed in the fact that i can't play any PS2 games on it, i still like the PS3.
But my favourite is probably still the Xbox 360, don't know, probably because i feel everything works better or maybe i just like the way the Xbox 360 works better.

Anyway what have i been playing?

Well on the PS2 i have been playing Persona 3 and i have Persona 4 laying around for when i finish Persona 3, also tried to play Everquest Online Adventures but unfortianatly all PAL servers have been taking down and only countries with NTSC can still play this MMO.

On the PS3 i've been playing Killzone 2, Resident Evil 5 (still stuck in the first level, can't beat the big guy), Pain (loved this game, never thought one could have so much fun with a ragdoll physics based game), Siren: Blood Curse and i have Heavenly Sword still laying around to be played.

On the Xbox 360 i've been playing: Saints Row (finally picked it up again), Guitar Hero World Tour, Fable 2 (totally got into this game, great), Peggle, Bully Scholarship Edition and i decided to get Saints Row 2 after playing it mostly on the PC, still think Saints Row is a lot more fun than GTA4, also got the new DLC for it, which i guess is a bit dissapointing but does give a couple of very cool new rides and a new homie you can call straight from the start.

On the PC i have not been playing much the last few weeks but i did start playing Silent Hunter 3, some Fallout 3 and i have a couple of new games waiting to be played, like Zeno Clash and the new Fallout 3 DLC.
But i will probably be playing Saints Row 2 and Fable 2 for a while as i am totally loving these games, i especially like the open world/sandbox feeling in Saints Row 2, i guess this comes as close to an MMO feeling as possible while playing a single player game.

I even bought the strategy guide for Saints Row 2 (although i haven't used it yet, only browsed through it), i usually don't buy strategy guides and when i do it usually means i like the game a lot and want to try to get everything possible out of it.

So after all this console (and mostly single player) gaming i am beginning to wonder if i am burned out on MMO's, some of the upcoming MMO's that i was really excited for don't seem that exciting anymore.
I guess only time will tell, for now i am having lots of fun playing Saints Row 2 and Fable 2.

Bring down the sky

Got kind of bored with KOTOR 2, somehow i just didn't like it as much as KOTOR 1, i guess the storyline just didn't "capture" me, so i decided to get Mass Effect instead :)
I allready played it on the Xbox but i am really a PC gamer, don't like playing long sessions on the Xbox.
So i went to D2D and got Mass Effect, it was a lot cheaper (almost half the price) than getting it in the shop.

So far i am having a lot of fun playing, it was an awesome game on the Xbox but i think it's a lot better on PC :)
Also got the downloadable content, "Bring down the sky" for free with the order

Running Mirror's Edge

I have been enjoying Miror's Edge quite a bit, the "free running" is awesome, i just feel that it should have been all about the running.
Finding your way around the city is awesome.
The major dissapointment is the guys shooting at you, it feels like i's just there to annoy you, it adds nothing, especially the times you are actually forced to fight them and have no option to run away from them, this definatly destroyed the game for me.

There were moments i was trying to find my way while being shot at by 6 or 7 bad guys and of course being killed over and over having to restart the level because i apperantly took too long trying to find the right path.

Overall it is a great game but it could have been so much better..

Way to many games to post..

So what have i been playing, since my last post about Fallout 3.. well lots of games :)
I've been playing Left 4 Dead, definatly loving it.
Call of Duty World at War, Mirror's Edge (xbox360), Tomb Raider Anniversary, Tomb Raider Legend and Tomb Raider Underworld.



Definatly liking the Tomb Raider series, started playing Legend and Anniversary when i pre-ordered Underworld after playing the demo.

So far i haven't been back to playing Dead Space, the controls on the PC version just suck, the game feels like a console game, not suited for PC at all..

Not much mmo love lately, after the announcement of Tabula Rasa going away i just didn't feel much like playing mmo's.
I did spend a little time in Age of Conan and did a little bit of beta, but i've mostly been playing single player games.

Conan

Only had a little time to game so i fired up the Xbox360 and played a little Conan.
really fun hack & slash.

What have i been up to??

Well haven't been blogging in some time, mostly due to the fact that there wasn't much to blog about, been having migraine headaches for the last couple of weeks, so not much gaming.
The few times that i wasn't down with migraine headaches i was playing Grand Theft Auto 4 on the xbox360, i got really hooked to this game, just awesome!!



I never played any of the previous GTA's so i guess it was extra cool for me :)
Some people have been recommending me to get GTA San Andreas as they think it's better than GTA4,so i have ordered it on PC.

I also recieved my collectors edition of Age of Conan (looks awesome btw), so i am hoping to get into some gaming there, if i can get myself away from GTA4 that is :)

Also in "preparation for Age of Conan, i started playing Conan on the Xbox360, having fun slashing away.

Still on Crackdown

Still having lots of fun shooting and blowing up stuff in Crackdown on my 360.
The storyline may not be much, but sometimes it's just fun to go out and blow stuff skyhigh, without worrying to much about story.

Been playing a lot of Crackdown on the Xbox 360, really fun game.
Lots of nice little features in this game.

The Ultimate Quest - Update

Thought i'd give a little update on my "Ultimate Quest" project.
Have hardly finished any games (not as much as i would have liked) since the last few as i've mostly been playing MMO's.

I haven't mention finishing Brothers in Arms on my blog, when i loaded up the game from the last save, i noticed that it was actually the last mission (which i allready finished) so apperantly i had allready finished it but thought i didn't.

According to the rules i made up i can start a new game when i finish 3 games, but i haven't picked a new game to start yet, i feel like i didn't really finish 3 games yet and i really wanna get that list down a bit more.

Been playing some more Mass Effect on the Xbox360, so far i am about 22 hours into it.
Still a fun game to play.

The Ultimate Quest: Finish games

I have a (bad) habit of not finishing games, i am not talking about MMO's or games that have multiplayer or games like Guitar Hero (i did finish it on easy mode though), i am mostly talking about finishing them in singleplayer.

Usually i'll start a game and play it until i get a new game and i'll start playing that and "forget" about previous games. It's not that i don't like them, i just never get around to finishing them and always tell myself that i will finish them later.

I started putting a list together of games that i never really finished, my goal with this is to finish all the games on this list before opening or starting to play a new game, it's probably going to be hard but to not play any new games but the list is getting ridiculously long and i really need to finish them.
I am not sure on how i am going to do this but i think it's at least a good start by not playing any new games until i finish the list..

Of course it's always nice to have a few games to choose from when you want to play a game, but this list is just ridiculous, there are games in this list that i haven't touched in months.

Frontlines: Fuel of War

Played the Frontlines: Fuel of War demo on the Xbox360.
Have to say this game looks really good, looks like there's a nice story in single player mode and it reminds me somewhat of Battlefield 2 (which i liked but without a nice single player mode i hardly play it anymore).
Didn't like the controls on the Xbox360 though, but that may be because i am used to aiming with the mouse and using a keyboard, so for me PC is the way to go with FPS'

Really think it's wierd they allready released a demo on the Xbox360 and not on the PC (personally i think the market for FPS is much bigger on the PC, but i might be wrong), but anyway i decided to pre-order the game for the PC and can't wait to start playing :)

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga

I've been playing Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga on the Xbox360.
Very adictive game :)

Test Drive Unlimited with Mass Effect

The last few days i have mostly been playing on my Xbox 360, having fun with Mass Effect and i am completely hooked to Test Drive Unlimited, it's a lot of fun driving around (and doing races) on Hawai.
Did finally get my Tabula Rasa keyset for my Zboard for my PC, but there seem to be some problems with it as it is not detected (as it should be), haven't found the time yet to start looking into it, but i hope i can get it to work..

Mass Effect

Spend most of my gaming time on the Xbox 360 playing Mass Effect, really awesome game !

Mass Effect ?

If all goes well i will be playing Mass Effect today.
After reading, and hearing in podcasts, about how great this game is, i gave in and ordered a Mass Effect/Xbox 360 bundle.
I ordedred the Xbox mostly for Mass Effect (hence the bundle), but there's few more games out there that look interresting.

If they live up to their "next day delivery" promise i will be playing this when i get home from work, yay !
