Virginworlds Podcast reaches 100 episodes
One of the best MMO podcasts around reached 100 shows.
Awesome job Brent !!
Show 100 just launched as an almost 3 hour epic.
I can't remember when i started listening to this podcast (probably somewhere early 2006) but i do know it was the second podcast ever i started listening to (my first podcast was SWG wit Yivvits and MrBubble) and i am pretty sure virginworlds got me into listening to podcasts and podcasts is pretty much all i use my Ipod for nowadays.
If you haven't listened to Virginworlds, go there now at www.virginworlds.com or download it through iTunes.
Talking about podcasts i am listening to, well i posted a list a couple of months ago, here's my current list of podcasts i am listening to:

F.E.A.R.
Finished up F.E.A.R. today, really think it's a nice shooter. Also liked the scary moments, lots of fun.
Another game added to my "The Ultimate Quest" project :)
Starship Troopers
Finally finished Starship Troopers today, it's the first step on my little project "The Ultimate Quest".

The Ultimate Quest: an update
I have been thinking a bit about how i am going to do this, as i think i would be punishing myself by not allowing myself to play any new games before finishing all of the old ones. I don't want to punish myself but i do want to stimulate myself to finish some games.
There are quite a number of games coming out that i am anxiously waiting for (like Rock Band, no it's not out over here or Frontlines: Fuel of War) and with my "playlist" being so huge it would take forever before i could play any of the new games.
So what i was thinking is, i am going to allow myself to play a new game when i finish at least 3 games from my list, so that way, when i add a new title to my "playlist" at least the list goes down by 2 games.
I think this is pretty reasonable, i should be able to finish 3 games within a pretty short period and play the latest games shortly after i get them and it will eventually result in a much shorter list.
Why am i putting this up on my blog, well by putting it here i can't cheat myself :)
It's out in public so i am somewhat "forced" to commit myself to it, 'cause it's pretty obvious i haven't finished most of my games before starting a new one eventhough i was getting annoyed by the huge stack of games that needed to be finished.
About 2 months ago i started by seperating my games and made a pile of the "unfinished" games, so that i knew which games i still needed to finish, with the intend to finish them...
I made a list way back in October last year which was allready an attempt at telling myself i need to finish these games and by looking at that list, i noticed i haven't really finished any of those games in there.
So now that it is up on my blog i will hopefully "force" myself to finish a large part of games from that list.
I also need to give a shout out to Brenden at Another Here, basicly his "The Month of Less is More" gave me the idea to start this, so Brenden, Thanks.
BTW: i did notice i finished at least one game this year: Call of Duty 4 :)
But i am not going to count this one in, so i'll still have to finish 3 games before i get to pick a new one.

Starship Troopers
Starting with "The Ultimate Quest" i played a bit of Starship Troopers, nothing is more fun than killing bugs :)
Still i think it's a fun shooter to play.
The Ultimate Quest: Finish games
I have a (bad) habit of not finishing games, i am not talking about MMO's or games that have multiplayer or games like Guitar Hero (i did finish it on easy mode though), i am mostly talking about finishing them in singleplayer.
Usually i'll start a game and play it until i get a new game and i'll start playing that and "forget" about previous games. It's not that i don't like them, i just never get around to finishing them and always tell myself that i will finish them later.
I started putting a list together of games that i never really finished, my goal with this is to finish all the games on this list before opening or starting to play a new game, it's probably going to be hard but to not play any new games but the list is getting ridiculously long and i really need to finish them.
I am not sure on how i am going to do this but i think it's at least a good start by not playing any new games until i finish the list..
Anyway here's the list of games i still have to finish:

Looking at this list... well i almost wanne give up before i even started :)
Of course it's always nice to have a few games to choose from when you want to play a game, but this list is just ridiculous, there are games in this list that i haven't touched in months.
So my first step is to get the list down to an acceptable number and first of all finish those games that i haven't touched in months (or longer in some cases).
Below is a list of games that i finished since i started with this:
This list will be updated whenever i finish a game (it will also be removed from the list above.

Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s
Been playing Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s, managed to get 5 stars on all but 2 songs on easy: Bathroom Wall and Los Angeles, just can't get 5 stars on those songs..
Also started playing on medium, a bit more difficult but fun, also after playing songs on medium for a while i noticed that the songs were getting a lot easier on easy, so it's good practice doing them on medium.

Guitar Hero 3
Finally managed to finish Guitar Hero 3 on easy mode, have to admit, so far i did not manage to finish Reign in Blood (i just can't get this one done) but i did manage to beat Lou (the end boss) in the guitar battle with the song The Devil Went Down to Georgia, what an awesome song to play (personally think it's probably the best song in the game), really wish you could play that song without having to go through that battle again as that battle is a major pain in the ass.
Since i can't get enough of the song here it is :)

Missing: Since January
Been working on Missing: Since January, it's a lot of fun using the internet to help solve puzzles and play little mini games to try and get to the next puzzle.
Apart from a couple of crashes, that appear to be caused by quicktime (never liked quicktime, it sucks), had to go back and forth between old and new versions of quicktime, the game is still great.

Frontlines: Fuel of War
Played the Frontlines: Fuel of War demo on the Xbox360.
Have to say this game looks really good, looks like there's a nice story in single player mode and it reminds me somewhat of Battlefield 2 (which i liked but without a nice single player mode i hardly play it anymore).
Didn't like the controls on the Xbox360 though, but that may be because i am used to aiming with the mouse and using a keyboard, so for me PC is the way to go with FPS'
Really think it's wierd they allready released a demo on the Xbox360 and not on the PC (personally i think the market for FPS is much bigger on the PC, but i might be wrong), but anyway i decided to pre-order the game for the PC and can't wait to start playing :)

Missing: Since January
Another "new" game i've been playing is Missing: Since January.
A very interresting game in which you have to solve puzzles and use the internet to find answers or passwords.
You also get emails from (NPC) persons that are part of your "investigation team" that will contain tips or leads.
It's a wierd game but i am enjoying it.
It's also an old game (2004) but so far all the needed websites still seem to be up and running, hopefully that will remain :)
Guitar Hero
After hearing and reading so much about it i thought of giving it a go, so i bought Guitar Hero for my PS2...
This is way to adictive, i am allready starting to get blisters on my fingers, just like i did years ago when i was still playing guitar :)
Have to admit i am only playing on easy, but it's still hard enough to time the notes right, but i am getting better...... i think..

SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars
I am liking SpellForce 2 so much that i decided to order the SpellForce Universe edition.
The universe edition contains:
* SpellForce – The Order of Dawn
* SpellForce – The Breath of Winter
* SpellForce – Shadow of the Phoenix
* SpellForce 2 – Shadow Wars
* SpellForce 2 – Dragon Storm
I am far from finishing SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars, according to the box there's over 60 hours of gameplay and so far i "only" played 9 hours.
I am really liking the RPG/RTS combination, most of the gameplay is RPG, with some very good/fun cutscenes, but when it comes to a major battle it turns to RTS where you have to build an army by gathering resources and building structures.

SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars & SWAT 4
Been playing SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars an RPG/RTS, found it in a supermarket in a bargain bin, it's actually a lot of fun to play.
It's an RPG with some RTS elements in it, i am really liking the story so far.
Found SWAT 4 in the same bargain bin, so i've also been playing that, always fun to shoot some bad guys :)

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty 4 is awesome :)
Played through the first few missions and i am liking it a lot, has a great "feel" to it and the graphics look stunning.
The only downside i've seen so far is that at times my squadmates get in the way (like block a doorway you want to go through), other than that great gameplay.

The Witcher
Still playing The Witcher, still lots of fun and a great story.
Have to say i didn't expect much from it but it's been awesome so far, i'm about 22 hours into it and apperantly it has about 40 hours of gameplay, so there's still plenty to do :)
Combat might be considered to easy for some, it's just a matter of clicking at the right time to "activate" special moves, but i like it that way, i'm more into the story than into combat, i view the combat just as a means to finish a mission.
Have to say though that my last fight against the golem sentry took forever and way too long.
I am actually thinking about playing this game again once i finish it as i think i have missed some stuff allready, but than again that might not happen as i have way to many games laying around that i still have to play/finish.
