So unreal.

Played a bit of a beta (under NDA so can't talk about it), so there isn't much to say/post..
Been a lot of fun and the game looks awesome, i am gonna be pre-ordering the game.

Other than that i've been listening to a bunch of podcasts, really need to catch up on them as i am starting to run behind :)

I also played a bit of the Unreal Tournament 2004 demo and decided to order the Unreal Anthology.

Two Worlds

Been playing the Two Worlds demo, have to say this game looks awesome.

It's a battle..

Finally managed to get Battlefield 2 working again, reinstalling the last patch seemed to have done the trick.
So been playing that for a little while :)

In a galaxy far, far away..

Been playing good old Star Wars Battlefront II, having loads of fun.

The fight continues

Still working on my campaign in World in Conflict, great game, i am absolutely loving it :)
The graphics are really great, fun how you can really zoom in and actually see your troops fighting.

Game Designer

I didn't really game much today as i spend most of my time working on my home study course (i am taking a course called "Game Designer").
I won't be getting a degree or a diploma or anything with it but i thought it would be a lot of fun learning more about what it takes to design a game and to (try) make games myself.

Basicly most of the material used in this course comes from two books:
1. Fundamentals of Game Design by Ernest adams and Andrew Rollings
2. The Game Maker's Apprentice: Game development for beginners by Mark Overmars (link)

The second book has a sofware tool called "Game Maker", used to create games.

The course also comes with lots of cool, classic DOS games like Cannon Fodder, James Pond, MDK and Frogger.

So far it's lots of fun, still have about four months of study to go.

More EverQuest

Besides listening to a bunch of podcasts i played a bit of EverQuest.
Did a few more quests with Samandu in the mines of Gloomingdeep, died for the first time and reached level 6 now :)

Can't wait to get out of the starting area though, i have 13 expansions to explore :)

World in Conflict

Recieved my copy of World in Conflict today, awesome looking game.
So far lots of fun playing the single player campaign.

donderdag 20 september 2007

Finally got my copy of the EverQuest anniversary edition (was playing the trial), so decided to roll a new character: Samandu.
Starting out at the Mines of Gloomingdeep, reached level 5 with Samandu, a Drakkin necromancer.

Bioshock, not so shocking.

Just finished playing the demo for Bioshock and..... it doesn't convince me.
After all i've been hearing and seeing, i thought this would be an awesome game, well it's nice.
But after finishing this demo, i am still not sure if i'm gonna buy it.
It looks great, story great and all but it doesn't really feel like being worth all the fuzz and hype surrounding this game.

Hmm maybe that's it, it's all hype.

Anyway, i doubt this game will be added to my collection anytime soon.

The Gimme NOW!! generation..

Ok, so after the wipe everyone had to start all over again in the Tabula Rasa beta, no problem.

So on my way to the first logo, i see there's 3 people allready there so i wait in line for my turn.
These logos are on some sort of timer, so when someone is allready using it you can't and have to wait a little for it to "reset".

So i patiently wait in line until it is my turn, low and behold, when it was my turn, even before i could activate the logo, some asshole comes walking up and activates it and walks of, leaving me to wait again, i cursed.
Just to make sure this wouldn't happen again, i kept pushing the "use" key, hopefully to prevent someone from "stealing" it again, needles to say, two more assholes managed to just walk up and steal it right in front of me.

I guess no one feels the need anymore to be nice to other people and just wait for your turn and let someone who got there before you go first (jerks).

It's the same in many other mmo's, kill stealing seems to be rather normal these days (and i've seen loads of that in Tabula Rasa the last few days).

I remember (in some other game), waiting for a spawn for over half an hour, when it finally spawned i engaged in combat only to see someone else pop up out of nowhere and get the kill on the mob.

....and still people think it's wierd that i'd rather solo (in an mmo).

RL being a bitch

Well i finaly got "well" enough to have a little playsession.
Been recovering from an infection in my right lung (pneumonia), quite painfull and difficult breathing.

But just a few hours ago i felt fit enough to turn on my computer and have a little go, i probably shouldn't be staying up to long though, so i'm gonna be heading of to bed pretty soon.

On a positive note, i've had no desire whatsoever for a cigarette in the last (almost) 4 days (hmm okay, sarcasm off)

EDIT: o, yeah, since NDA has been lifted i can actually say that i played a little bit of Tabula Rasa (been in that beta since July 3rd)
Just a little screenie from early august.

He who comes first..

Guess this is a nice bonus of the server merge, got a message that i am the first to finish this quest, cool :)

I see people...!!

Logged in to Vanguard today, after the server merges happened yesterday and i am finally seeing people walking around.
Also finally got my station access working (with a little help from customer service) so i'll probably be playing Vanguard a bit more.

Mostly did some diplomacy missions with my latest character, Cynheiddon, around Tursh.
